El Rio Preserve along the Santa Cruz River provides excellent habitat for birds and other wildlife. While the rise in temperature signals the end of spring migration, our resident birds stick around and continue breeding through the warmer months. Join Pima County Pima County Conservation Lands and Resources birding expert Jeff Babson to look for the birds that enjoy the heat, such as Lucy’s and Yellow Warblers, Bell’s Vireo, and Summer Tanager. Remember to bring a water bottle and sunscreen. Wear a hat and comfortable shoes.
Designed for ages 12 and up.
