Teacher Applications are Open

We have been awarded three additional years of funding, 2025 through 2028, by the National Science Foundation for our BIORETS Santa Cruz River teacher training program (BIORETS stands for Research Experiences for Teachers in the Biological Sciences Sites). However, the funding landscape in the federal government is tenuous at the moment, so it is possible that our funding will be recalled before we are able to start. We will share updates when we have them.

This Tucson-based year-long program partners teachers with University of Arizona researchers to learn field techniques and research methods focused on the Santa Cruz River. Teachers are paid for their participation in the program. Hear from BIORETS teachers on our YouTube channel @SantaCruzRiverAZ, check out lessons and activities teacher created, and learn more on our BIORETS page.
